Various tools are used for the purpose and one among them is the X-ray diffraction technique. X-ray diffraction technique provides the finite details of the materials in the form of charge density picture. Charge density picture can be analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively for the type of bonding existing in solids and also for the measure of the charges involved in deciding the physical and chemical properties of the chosen system. And hence, the study on charge density using experimental X-ray diffraction information is inevitable for the better understand and the utility of the material. This monograph elaborately deals with the charge density distribution study on some of the ionic and fluoride solids and some technologically important semiconductor materials.http://r-e-f.ru/experimental-charge-density-semiconductors-oxides-and-fluorides/Edible fruits in the wild and in homegardens-Fentahun Mengistu Tiruneh and Herbert Hagerhttp://r-e-f.ru/edible-fruits-in-the-wild-and-in-homegardens/The study assesses the species composition and diversity of wild fruits in the overall and agricultural landscape; the level of wild fruits domestication; species compositions and diversity of cultivated fruits; describes homegarden production system; plant associations and configuration in gardens; degree of intra-specific variability; factors influencing fruits species diversity, and propensity of farmers on wild fruits domestication. We examine degree of cultural practices and tree management regimes. It specifically examines practices underway with respect to cultivation, nursery management and propagation, fertility maintenance, pest and disease control, watering, tree management etc. It appraises the level of fruit exploitation and income generation; specifically fruiting phenology, extent of fruits use, importance for peoples' livelihoods, nutrition, fruit transactions, non-fruit utilities of wild fruits and factors hindering fruit exploitation. We elicit the local...http://r-e-f.ru/edible-fruits-in-the-wild-and-in-homegardens/Analysis on Manifolds with Generalized Cusps-Nikolaos Roidoshttp://r-e-f.ru/analysis-on-manifolds-with-generalized-cusps/In this book we are interested in manifolds with cusp like singularities that are in between the cases of cylindrical end and of hyperbolic cusp. More precisely, we study the Laplace operator acting on p-forms, defined on an n-dimensional manifold with generalized cusp. Such a manifold consists of a compact piece and a noncompact one. The noncompact piece is isometric to the generalized cusp. A generalized cusp is an n-dimensional noncompact manifold equipped with a parameter dependent warped product metric. When the positive parameter goes to zero, the cusp becomes a cylinder, and when it goes to infinity, it could be thought of as approaching the n-dimensional hyperbolic cusp. In such a manifold we construct the generalized eigenforms of the Laplacian. Thus, we give a description of the continuous spectral decomposition of the Laplace operator and we determine some of its important properties, like analyticity and the existence of a functional equation. We also define the stationary...http://r-e-f.ru/analysis-on-manifolds-with-generalized-cusps/Analysis of Informal Seed Supply System-Meseret Getahun,Ranjan Karripai and Firew Mekbibhttp://r-e-f.ru/analysis-of-informal-seed-supply-system/Seed is a vital input to improve agricultural production and productivity. Farmers obtain seed from both formal and informal sources. The informal seed sector in Ethiopia is the major seed supplier of seed for many crops grown in the country. Access to the formal seed sector is limited for the farmers, and hence the role of informal seed supply system is significant. The book is designed to provide you with detailed analysis of the functioning of informal seed supply system with its institutional frameworks. The book have valuable information which assists policy makers, individuals in the sector, GOs and NGOs to intervene in the seed sector.http://r-e-f.ru/analysis-of-informal-seed-supply-system/Radiation-Induced Polymer-BISWAJIT MALLICKhttp://r-e-f.ru/radiation-induced-polymer/In the last few years, the study of effects induced by energetic particle (ion) beam on polymers has attracted growing attention, both for fundamental interest and for potential technological applications. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) can be modified by neutron and proton irradiation because of effects on the molecular bonds due to radiation- solid interactions. Present book entitled “Radiation-Induced Polymer: Modification and Analysis” is based on analysis of in-air neutron and proton irradiated PET fibre. For neutron (4.44 MeV) irradiation, an Am-Be based laboratory neutron source was used while proton (3 MeV) irradiation was carried out in a specially fabricated external-beam line and fibre irradiation cell with the 3 MV Tandem Pelletron Accelerator at Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, India. The radiation-induced modifications in the physical and chemical properties of the PET fibre were investigated using X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Micro-Raman spectrometry (MRS),...http://r-e-f.ru/radiation-induced-polymer/Maximum Principles and Applications-Dario Daniele Monticellihttp://r-e-f.ru/maximum-principles-and-applications/We study maximum principles for a class of linear, degenerate elliptic differential operators of the second order. The Weak and Strong Maximum Principles are shown to hold for this class of operators in bounded domains, as well as a Hopf type lemma, under suitable hypotheses on the principal part and on the degeneracy set of the operator. We prove a Poincare inequality, which then allows to define the functional setting where to study weak solutions for equations and inequalities involving this class of operators. A good example of such an operator is the Grushin operator, to which we devote particular attention. As an application of these tools in the degenerate elliptic setting, we prove a partial symmetry result for classical solutions of semilinear problems on bounded, symmetric and suitably convex domains and a nonexistence result for classical solutions of semilinear equations with subcritical growth defined on the whole space. We use here the method of moving planes,...http://r-e-f.ru/maximum-principles-and-applications/Plantation Crop Production: A Lecturer Note-CHARLES OYEWOLEhttp://r-e-f.ru/plantation-crop-production-a-lecturer-note/While the author is not claiming original source of the information contain in this book, the work is simply an attempt to put together some major thoughts on plantation crop production and present them to students, as well as others who may be interested in plantation crop production. The book attempts a definition of plantation crops as seen by various schools of thoughts. it also tries to understand what constitutes plantation, as against plantation crops. It eventually focused on plantation crops common within the author's locality, such as the palms, cashew, citrus, kola, mango and rubber.http://r-e-f.ru/plantation-crop-production-a-lecturer-note/Invariant Subspace Theorems-R. Tunc M?s?rl?ogluhttp://r-e-f.ru/invariant-subspace-theorems/The present monograph concerns with the invariant subspace problem within the context of families of linear bounded operators on Banach spaces as well as families of positive operators on Banach lattices. Although it is primarily based on the PhD thesis of the author, the monograph provides further results and information on recent advances about the topic. The general invariant subspace problem concerns linear and bounded operators on infinite-dimensional complex Hilbert spaces, and asks whether there exists a closed subspace, different than the trivial ones, that is mapped to itself by such an operator. The picture that emerged after oodles of different attempts for a possible solution to this problem for a single operator has been the subject matter of an extensive amount of research over more than seven decades, and it was only in the late 1990s that the reformulation of the invariant subspace problem for families of operators, rather than a single one, ...http://r-e-f.ru/invariant-subspace-theorems/Bionomics and management of diamondback month,on cauliflower-Tufail Ahmad and M Shafiq Ansarihttp://r-e-f.ru/bionomics-and-management-of-diamondback-month-on-cauliflower/During the last few decades, cole crops production are severely affected by diamondback moth (DBM), Plutella xylostella infestation as this insect developed multiple resistance to commonly used insecticides resulting in population outbreak, causing devastation and complete crop loss throughout the world. The use of manipulating integrated methodologies are reducing the host plant resistant and natural enemies and also increasing the production cost. The failure of all management strategies forced to study thermo regulatory, tritrophic relationship of development of DBM with host plant and environmental condition. The present monographs deals with the population dynamics and life table studies of DBM, estimation of thermal threshold level, and calculation of degree days at different temperature and host plants in laboratory and field conditions.http://r-e-f.ru/bionomics-and-management-of-diamondback-month-on-cauliflower/Sobolev gradient methods-Nauman Raza and Sultan Sialhttp://r-e-f.ru/sobolev-gradient-methods/Sobolev gradient methods resolve numerical difficulties in approximating solutions to differential equations and minima of error and energy functionals by construction of inner product spaces that one suitable for the problem at hand. The great efficiency achieved by setting the problem in right Sobolev space, makes steepest descent methods applicable to wide variety of problems. In this monograph, applications of Sobolev gradient methods in finite-difference and finite-element settings are considered for minimization of energy functionals, soliton solutions of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation, and pulse propagation through a fiber optic cable. For each problem, the practical application of the principle of selecting an appropriate Sobolev space setting is demonstrated. The advantages of the Sobolev gradient approach in efficiency and simplicity of implementation are shown. Engineers and computational physicists will find a clear description of the numerical method allowing...http://r-e-f.ru/sobolev-gradient-methods/
